There is a famous saying “If you have a positive attitude and constantly strive to give your best effort, eventually you will overcome your immediate problems and find you are ready for greater challenges”.
The People of Gilgit-Baltistan has been facing the challenges from many years.
GB has been ignored in many fields such as education, healthcare, sports, allocation of budget and constitutional rights. GB is the forgotten corner of Pakistan. In spite of such issues we are optimistic that we will obtain better opportunities in 2017. We are the part of this country, good or bad, we love it and will be, because this is our home.
We are facing very drastic changes in the GB, because of China, Pakistan Economic Corridor, that might bring new challenges along the opportunities, especially for the new generations. That will be a great venture for the people of Gilgit-Baltistan. No one can deny that CPEC is the very big opportunity for the people of GB, and it will be the game changer, but the question is how we should respond it? What kind of strategies we should adopt to avail this opportunity?
If we are imaging that the CPEC is passing through the GB, therefore, the government of Pakistan will reward us for that, no and never, we shouldn’t keep sort of expectations for miracles. The only thing we need to remember is “there is no free lunch”. What I am trying to highlight is, we will have to get advantage of this opportunity by our self.
This is the first time that GB is exploring for the international businesses and we must be ready to respond it. The young generations should have a look around themselves and analyze the realistic business options, there are many business opportunities, just we need to do is take a step and move forward.
The most important thing that we need to remember all the time is, we will have to keep hold the local business control in our hands, once we lose it someone else will take away from us. There are many outsiders who are looking to invest in GB in various business areas to enter into local business. If outsiders are tying the avail this opportunity, then why we shouldn’t?
What sort of businesses should be and how we can start?
I might not be able to cover everything in this article. The businesses we should mainly focus are, tourism, hotel and restaurant, logistic, organic food, China accessories, rest house, fuel, construction and health related facilities. Before entering any of them, we must be performed entire market analysis, business feasibilities as per your niche via different surveys and feedbacks. Anticipating about the success or failure of the business is vital part of the whole business process.
Establishing a new business startup in GB is not easy for everyone, because each person has different financial conditions and resources to utilize. Then how we can start a business if we don’t have sufficient capital, or resources? The convenient and simple way is to just look around you and share your business idea with the business minded people in your friend circle and persuade them to take an initiative as a group. The other method to initiate the business is, to reach the investors with your complete plan (short-term and long-term) and try to convince them for the investments. You might get investment in equally profit distribution or any other term and conditions on mutual consent, it depends.
There are numerous options to acquire funds on mutual interest bases, just we need to be focused. If you are determinant you can achieve your goal. Don’t be afraid of the consequences of failure.
Challenges and difficulties make us strong. 2017 will be the full of challenges, especially for youth of Gilgit-Baltistan from every aspect, such as business, political influences, education, infrastructure and other areas of life. This is our obligation to contribute in the development of Gilgit-Baltistan.
