New York – Web Desk

The excitement over the Aga Khan receiving the Asia Society’s lifetime achievement award in New York reached such a fervor that guests kept stealing his place card as a souvenir.

A few other followers actually kissed the ground after he walked past.

Mike Bloomberg and Sharon Rockefeller presented him with the award and Rockefeller explained that her husband had been at Harvard with the Aga Khan, whom she has known for 60 years.

“I fell in love with my husband as a guest on his yacht,” she said.

The Aga Khan was only 22 when he inherited the title from his grandfather in 1957.
