Islamabad: Khunjerab Club won their first match against Chinar Club in Australian rules football

First match of Australian Rules Football were played between Khunjerab-GB Club vs Chinar Club here in Junoon Ground today,2 February 2018.

Khunjerav Club successfully scored 64 points and won the match where opponent team was failed to get a single point.

While talking with PT, Captain Khunjerab-GB Club Taimur exclaimed that the youngsters have a great potential and can represent Pakistan on international level. Most of the players are playing it for the first time and still not familiar with rules of the game but fortunately they played very well and made Gilgit-Baltistan proud. We thank Raja Nazim ul Amin for sponsoring the club and supporting us, he further added.

Australian rules football, officially known as Australian football or simply called Aussie rules, football or footy, is a contact sport played between two teams of eighteen players on an oval-shaped field, often a modified cricket ground. Points are scored by kicking the ball between the opposing goal posts (worth six points) or behind posts (worth one point). The team with the highest score at the end of the match wins unless a draw is declared.

Total five teams have participated in the tournament and schedules of the upcoming matches will be announced via social media.
